Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) refers to the amount of oxidant consumed when treating water samples with strong oxidants under certain conditions, expressed in mg/L. COD reflects the degree of pollution caused by reducing substances in water bodies. Reducing substances in water include organic matter, nitrite, ferrous salts, sulfides, etc. Among them, water pollution by organic matter is the most common, so COD is also one of the indicators of relative organic matter content.

The HBCOD-1 online COD analyzer combines the potassium dichromate open digestion method and rapid colorimetric method specified in GB11914-89, and adopts advanced and reliable microcomputer control technology to automatically control water sample collection, chemical addition, automatic constant temperature, and automatic photoelectric colorimetric. It quickly, continuously, and independently completes the entire process of COD analysis in sewage. Due to the use of standard microcomputer interface technology, the instrument can independently complete COD analysis in sewage, and can also be connected to other microcomputer systems to achieve total COD control in water bodies. This instrument can be widely used for measuring COD in domestic sewage, industrial wastewater, and surface water.

    ◇ Automatic range adjustment

    According to changes in water quality concentration, the equipment automatically switches between standard range and high concentration range to ensure measurement accuracy.

    ◇ Excessive sample retention function

    In conjunction with an automatic water quality sampler, it can achieve the function of retaining samples that exceed the standard.

    ◇ Water shortage protection function

    In conjunction with the flow meter, it is possible to not analyze the discharge outlet when there is no water or little drainage, and to analyze it again when there is water, in order to protect the water collection equipment and analytical instruments.
