Other wastewater is mainly discharged as cooling water, with generally low pollutant concentrations and can be reused.
Characteristics of sewage
High COD concentration is the main source of antibiotic wastewater pollutants.

The concentration of SS in sewage is relatively high, mainly consisting of residual culture medium from fermentation and microbial hyphae produced during fermentation. Extremely unfavorable for anaerobic UASB process treatment.

◆ There are toxic substances such as difficult to biodegrade substances and antibiotics with antibacterial effects. Anaerobic biological treatment has certain advantages over aerobic treatment in inhibiting toxic substances.

◆ High concentration of sulfate. It is generally believed that the presence of sulfate under aerobic conditions has no effect on biological treatment.

The composition of water quality is complex. The content of intermediate metabolites and residual high concentrations of acids, bases, organic solvents, and other chemical raw materials in extraction and separation is high. This type of ingredient is prone to causing adverse factors such as large fluctuations in pH value, high chromaticity, and strong odor, which can affect the normal activity of methane bacteria in anaerobic reactors.

The water volume is small but intermittent discharge results in high impact load. Due to the batch fermentation production of antibiotics and intermittent discharge of sewage, the composition and hydraulic load of the sewage vary greatly over time, which poses great difficulties for biological treatment.

processing method
This design uses UASB reactor because the process technology is mature, resistant to impact loads, has a large processing capacity, can remove most of the organic matter, recover biogas, reduce energy consumption, occupies a small area, and can reduce construction and operating costs. Due to its wide application, it has more practical operating experience. The aerobic treatment unit adopts SBR method, which has high treatment efficiency, occupies less land, saves investment, operates flexibly, has good sludge performance, and the effluent quality can meet the standard.

Therefore, this design treatment scheme adopts the UASB-SBR (anaerobic aerobic combined) process, which not only meets the effluent requirements but also saves investment and operating costs as much as possible.
