Jiangxi 450Y orifice plate corrugated regular packingReducing the pressure drop of each theoretical stage of the packed tower to a very small level reduces energy consumption and lowers the temperature of the tower kettle, making it particularly suitable for the separation of thermosensitive systems. In many cases, corrugated regular packing can be used instead of tray or bulk packing. These are the general applications of corrugated regular packing. 1 (Jiangxi 450Y orifice plate corrugated regular packing)Can be used as a redistribution device
Even under the condition of uniform initial distribution of gas and liquid, there is uneven flow of gas and liquid in the packed bed, especially uneven flow of liquid. Moreover, in practical applications, it is difficult to achieve uniform initial distribution of liquid, which reduces the separation efficiency per unit packing height of the packed tower as the packing layer increases. However, in practical applications, the required packing layer height is generally high. Therefore, it is necessary to redistribute the vapor and liquid. Experiments have shown that in bulk packed towers, liquids with uniform initial distribution flow through a short section of packing layer, resulting in channel flow and wall flow. This requires the vapor and liquid to be redistributed after passing through a section of packing layer. The usual redistributor needs to collect the liquid and redistribute it. Redistribution, expensive and occupying a significant portion of tower space
The function of the redistributor is to achieve uniform distribution of gas-liquid in the cross-section of the tower, and to mix the gas and liquid separately to achieve uniform concentration distribution. The self distribution performance is related to the gas and liquid dispersion coefficients of the packing, and the larger the coefficient, the better the self distribution performance and lateral mixing. The dispersion coefficient of corrugated regular packing is very high, such as the gas dispersion coefficient of Melapak250Y stainless steel orifice plate corrugated packing, which is 7 times that of a 50mm Raschig ring. Using corrugated structured packing as a filler with a low dispersion coefficient for gas and liquid redistribution, an ethanol isopropanol system barrier reflux operation was performed on a φ 257mm tower, and two 300mm high CY type stainless steel wire mesh corrugated structured packing were used as redistribution packing. Compared with the 6.4mm x6.4mm 0-ring packing without CY type wire mesh corrugated redistribution packing, we found that under normal gas velocity operation, the efficiency of the packing layer using CY type wire mesh corrugated redistribution packing was more than 70% higher than that without redistribution packing layer. In the experiment, it was also found that adding CY type stainless steel wire mesh corrugated structured packing achieved redistribution, and the separation efficiency of the upper and lower packing sections was significantly improved, indicating that the gas and liquid two-phase distribution in the tower was more efficient. All have been improved.


2. (Corrugated regular packing) can be used as a support and compression device for packing
The support and compression device of corrugated regular packing is simpler than that of bulk packing, and the grid plate structure is sufficient. Special support and compression devices are usually required in bulk packing towers, but the effect is not ideal. Adding a small amount of corrugated regular packing at the top and bottom of bulk packing can achieve the purpose of support and compression, and the effect is good. For low strength wire mesh regular packing, a small amount of corrugated packing can also be used at the top and bottom to prevent the wire mesh packing from being crushed. In addition to compression and support, corrugated packing at the top and bottom is also conducive to the distribution of liquids and gases, and has heat and mass transfer effects


3. (Corrugated regular packing) can be used as a packing support beam
It is not enough to only use cloth to support the grid plate in a large diameter tower. Supporting beams, usually I-beams, are also needed under the grid plate. Large I-beams not only affect gas-liquid flow but also occupy a lot of space, which is more prominent in situations where the packing layer is short. The use of plate corrugated packing support beams made of 2-5mm thick steel plates effectively solves this problem. It is a set of plate corrugated sheets made of 2-5mm thick steel plates arranged and welded together like Melapak packing (orifice plate corrugated packing), placed in the bottom layer of packing, and combined with the corresponding packing to form a disk. It has both the function of supporting beams and packing.
In summary, corrugated structured packing has many special uses besides its general function in packing towers.
