LOW-SVR non-contact surface velocity radar (electromagnetic current meter)
The LOW-SVR series non-contact surface velocity radar (radio wave current meter) uses the 24GHz microwave frequency band for non-contact measurement of surface flow velocity in rivers, mud, sewage, and other areas. It can be applied in hydrological monitoring, flood control, environmental pollution monitoring, and other fields. Non contact surface velocity measurement is simple in construction, small in size, light in weight, low in power consumption, easy to carry and use, not corroded by sewage, not affected by sediment, and ensures personnel safety. Not only can it be used for regular environmental monitoring, but it is also particularly suitable for undertaking urgent, difficult, and dangerous observation tasks.
The speed radar emits continuous wave signals towards non-uniform flow surfaces. Due to the presence of radial velocity, the backscattering of the fluid surface will cause Doppler frequency shift. By analyzing the magnitude of this frequency shift, the velocity at the fluid surface can be calculated. During high flood periods, due to the significant reflection of water surface waves, the surface velocity characteristics are more easily captured by radar probes.
The flow velocity value measured by the radar is the radial velocity of the fluid surface relative to the radar, so the angle at which the radar is placed should also be considered. To obtain the average velocity of a fluid, it is necessary to multiply it by the water surface velocity coefficient.
