Marine mollusc killing agentsPhysical and chemical properties of the product
Product Features:
It is a killing agent for mollusks in seawater or freshwater direct current cooling systems. Mainly suitable for handling soft bodied animals such as green shells, brown shells, barnacles, and hydroids.
Working principle:
It is an amine salt non oxidizing fungicide that has no irritation to living organisms, especially effective in killing filtering and feeding mollusks (such as shellfish), crustaceans (such as barnacles), and membrane animals. Marine organisms do not close their shells when they come into contact with this fungicide, but continuously absorb it, unknowingly "poisoning and dying".
The molecule contains a positively charged "head" N+and a long-chain alkyl fatty acid tail. The cell membrane usually carries negative charges, and N+easily neutralizes these negative charges, disrupting the activity of cell membrane proteins and achieving killing effects by cutting off the transport of nutrients within the cell.
Biocide is a medication containing 50% active concentration, with the pentavalent nitrogen atom in the cationic position, which easily binds with organisms that are usually anionic. By cutting off the transport of nutrients within cells, it achieves a killing effect and is used to treat marine biological pollution. After the system processing is completed, the surface is clean and smooth, and a very thin protective film can prevent larvae and eggs from adhering to the tube wall and reproducing within 2-8 weeks after processing.
Marine mollusc killing agentsEnvironmental characteristics:
(1) Selective. The reason why it can be used as a biocide for DC cooling systems is twofold: on the one hand, it has a great killing effect on shellfish, clams, algae, etc., and on the other hand, it has a relatively small impact on fish and shrimp, with excellent selectivity.
(2) Easy biodegradability. This product does not pose a threat to various fish species in the biosphere, but only kills and treats contaminated shellfish. Its active substances have a short-term survival in the environment, and its degradation products are carbon dioxide and water. Natural degradation does not exceed 24 hours, and the residual concentration after treatment can be directly discharged into the water.
Dosing method and usage requirements
Intermittent dosing is adopted, with dosing once a week from May to October each year and once every two weeks at other times. Each time, 4 mg/L is added continuously for 6 hours based on the circulating water volume; When the pollution is severe, add 6 mg/L continuously for 8 hours. On the old system, if conditions permit, adult mollusks should be manually removed before adding, so as not to bring dead mollusks into the system. This product works better when used in combination with sodium hypochlorite. Please note that sodium hypochlorite can only be added the next day after it has been added.
Storage method
The shelf life of this product is 2 years and the flash point is 54 degrees. It should be stored in a ventilated, shaded, and dry place, and the container should be kept sealed when not in use. Stay away from sparks and flames.
