Multi media filter equipment for water treatmentIt is the process of using one or several filter media to pass water with high turbidity through a certain thickness of granular or non granular materials under a certain pressure, effectively removing suspended impurities and clarifying water. Commonly used filter media include quartz sand, anthracite, manganese sand, etc., mainly used for water treatment to remove turbidity, soften water, and pre treat pure water.
The meaning of filtration is that in the process of water treatment, filtration generally refers to the process of using filter media layers such as quartz sand and anthracite to intercept suspended impurities in water, thereby clarifying the water. The porous material used for filtration is called filter material, and quartz sand is the most common filter material. There are various types of filter media, including granular, powdery, and fibrous. Common filter media include quartz sand, anthracite, activated carbon, magnetite, garnet, porous ceramics, plastic balls, etc. Multi media filter (filter bed), which uses two or more media as the filter layer, is used in industrial circulating water treatment systems to remove impurities, adsorbed oil, etc. in sewage, so that the water quality meets the requirements of recycling. The function of filtration is mainly to remove suspended or colloidal impurities in water, especially to effectively remove small particles and bacteria that cannot be removed by precipitation technology. BOD5 and COD also have a certain degree of removal effect.
Function: Remove impurities such as mud, sand, suspended solids, colloids, and algae from water, and reduce mechanical damage and pollution to reverse osmosis membrane components.
The multi-media filter materials in the filter are high-quality uniformly sized gravel, quartz sand, magnetite, anthracite and other filter materials. These filter materials are scientifically and orderly distributed in the filter tank according to their specific gravity and particle size. For example, anthracite with small specific gravity and slightly larger particle size is placed at the top of the filter bed, quartz sand with moderate specific gravity and smaller particle size is placed in the middle layer of the filter bed, and gravel with large specific gravity and larger particle size is placed at the bottom layer of the filter bed. This ratio ensures that the filter will not produce chaotic layers during backwashing, thereby ensuring the retention capacity of the filter material.
Multi media filter equipment for water treatmentThe application in water treatment is very extensive, mainly used to remove suspended solids, particulate matter, colloids and other impurities in water, in order to achieve the goal of purifying water quality. The following are the specific uses of multi-media filters in different water treatment scenarios:
Industrial circulating water system: In industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemical, power, and petrochemicals, multi-media filters can effectively remove suspended solids, impurities, and organic matter from circulating water, ensuring stable water quality, extending equipment life, and improving production efficiency.
Wastewater treatment: In the treatment of wastewater generated in industrial production processes, multi-media filters serve as pretreatment equipment, which can remove most suspended solids and impurities, providing favorable conditions for subsequent biological treatment or deep treatment.
Municipal water supply: In waterworks, multi-media filters are used as pre-treatment equipment to remove suspended solids, sediment, colloids and other impurities from raw water, improve the effectiveness of subsequent treatment processes, and ensure that the water quality meets national drinking water standards.
Agricultural irrigation: In agricultural irrigation systems, multi-media filters can remove impurities such as sediment and suspended solids from irrigation water, reduce blockage and damage to the irrigation system, improve irrigation water quality, and increase crop growth and yield.
Swimming pool water treatment: used for purifying the circulating water of swimming pools, removing suspended solids, algae and other organisms in the water, maintaining the clarity and hygiene of swimming pool water, and meeting hygiene standards.
Pure water preparation: In the process of pure water preparation, a multi-media filter uses various filtering media such as quartz sand, activated carbon, and ceramic particles to filter and adsorb impurities in water, achieving the goal of purifying water quality.
Other application scenarios: In the fields of hospitals and healthcare, semiconductor and electronic manufacturing, hotels and commercial buildings, etc., multi-media filters also play an important role in ensuring water quality safety or improving facility operation efficiency.
