It has three large-scale pharmaceutical GMP production bases for active pharmaceutical ingredients and formulated drugs. The company has workshops certified by the state for active pharmaceutical ingredients, solid preparations, water injections, freeze-dried powder injections, etc. It has more than ten automated production lines for tablets, capsules, water injections, and powder injections. At present, there are 33 types of raw materials with a production capacity of 300 tons per year; There are over 100 types of Western medicine preparations, with a production scale of 3 billion tablets (granules) per year for solid preparations and 100 million injections per year.
Fifteen pharmaceutical workshops in a certain branch area of Jiangsu Enhua Pharmaceutical produce a mixture of organized and unorganized volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emissions during the production process. In order to address the impact of VOCs organic waste gas generated in the factory area on the ecology and workshop environment, as well as to protect the environment and meet national and local waste gas emission standards, a supporting waste gas treatment system and equipment are now needed.

Based on the characteristics of exhaust gases from 15 workshops of Enhua, Shanghai Lanbao Environmental Protection has customized a "condensation pretreatment+spray washing+activated carbon adsorption and desorption" exhaust gas treatment solution for this project, which has been tested and meets national emission standards.

Enhua Pharmaceutical workshop has a large volume and high concentration of exhaust gas, with complex components. After on-site testing, Lanbao Environmental Protection has designed the following VOCs exhaust gas treatment process route based on the site conditions and requirements:
1. Each workshop has organized exhaust gas → exhaust gas collection system → chilled water condenser → end scrubber+activated carbon adsorption system;
2. Unorganized waste gas from each workshop → Waste gas collection system → Primary alkali absorption tower → Primary water absorption tower → Activated carbon adsorption → Introduction
Fan → chimney emission.
  Process flow description:
Condensation pretreatment+spray washing+activated carbon adsorption and desorption+exhaust
Condensation pretreatment: Organized waste gas in the workshop comes from centrifuges, mother liquor tanks, reaction vessels, vacuum pumps, condensers, dryers, etc., with relatively high concentrations. Therefore, this plan designs a first stage chilled water condensation treatment to reduce the fluctuation impact of gas concentration on subsequent equipment.
Spray washing: After collecting and summarizing the exhaust gas, it is treated with alkali washing and water washing tower to basically remove the water-soluble components in the exhaust gas components, reducing the load on the subsequent exhaust gas treatment equipment.
Activated carbon adsorption and desorption: mainly composed of four process steps: pretreatment, adsorption, regeneration (desorption, intermittent watering, cooling and drying)
Drying and solvent recovery
Exhaust: After adsorption, the exhaust gas has reached the clean emission standard and is collected and discharged into the main exhaust chimney under the residual pressure of the fan.
