Its selection is not simply based on requirements. There are many reasons to consider, such as conveying characteristics, flow rate, head, power matching, and material.

1. Lining material considerations for slurry pump selection
There are many types of materials for slurry pumps nowadays, such as high chromium cast iron, high chromium white cast iron, ceramic surface coating, and wear-resistant rubber. Among them, high chromium cast iron is a wear-resistant material that is only suitable for use in plants where the slurry contains coarse and sharp minerals; The high chromium white cast iron material has good wear resistance, but its toughness is poor and it is not suitable for withstanding the rapid impact of large solid particles. Otherwise, it is easy to cause the surface material of the impeller to peel off; Ceramic surface coating materials have high hardness and good wear resistance, but are not suitable for minerals with large particles and excessive water chestnuts, otherwise it is extremely easy to cause the ceramic surface coating material to fracture; Wear resistant rubber material has good wear resistance and elasticity, and there is no obstacle to the transportation of coarse and angular particles. Its wear resistance and corrosion resistance are more than twice that of metal materials.

Generally speaking, when customers choose, they tend to overlook the issue of head and only focus on the conveying flow rate. Some people may even think that a higher head is safer, but in fact, if the head is higher than the actual head requirement, the power consumption will be very high, which will bring customers capital investment. Therefore, the pump head should be selected according to the actual head requirement. In addition, when calculating the head, it is also necessary to pay attention to the issue of head at any time to avoid insufficient efficiency caused by insufficient head.

3. Selection needs to consider whether the power matches
There are generally two situations where the motor power is unreasonable: when a large motor is paired with a small pump or when a small motor is paired with a large pump. Firstly, there are many cases where a large motor is paired with a small pump. If the matching power is chosen too high, it will increase the power consumption, similar to the reason for the high head. Secondly, if the matching power is selected too small, it may result in insufficient slurry supply to the pump or the motor exceeding the limit and unable to operate the pump.
