SGC4.2T grating rulerInstallation method:

The installation of grating displacement sensors is relatively flexible and can be installed in different parts of the machine tool.

Generally, the main ruler is installed on the worktable (slide) of the machine tool, and moves randomly with the cutting of the bed. The reading head is fixed on the bed, and the reading head is installed below the main ruler as much as possible. The selection of its installation method must pay attention to the splashing direction of chips, cutting fluid, and oil. If it is necessary to install with the reading head facing upwards due to installation location limitations, an auxiliary sealing device must be added. In addition, in general, the reading head should be installed on the stationary parts of the relative machine tool as much as possible. At this time, the output wire should not move and is easy to fix, while the ruler body should be installed on the moving parts of the relative machine tool (such as the sliding plate).

1. Installation base of grating ruler displacement sensor

When installing the grating ruler sensor, it is not allowed to directly install the sensor on rough and uneven machine bodies, let alone on machine bodies that have been painted with primer. The grating ruler and reading head are installed on two components of the machine tool that move relative to each other. Use a micrometer to check the parallelism between the installation surface of the main ruler of the machine tool worktable and the direction of the guide rail movement. The micrometer is fixed on the bed and the worktable is moved to achieve parallelism within 0.1mm/1000mm. If this requirement cannot be met, a grating ruler base needs to be designed and processed.

The requirements for the base are as follows: (1) A base with a length equal to that of the grating ruler should be added (the base should be about 50mm longer than the grating ruler). (2) The base is processed through milling and grinding processes to ensure its plane parallelism is within 0.1mm/1000mm. In addition, a reading head base that is the same height as the ruler base needs to be processed. The total error between the base of the reading head and the base of the ruler body shall not exceed ± 0.2mm. During installation, adjust the position of the reading head to achieve a parallelism of about 0.1mm between the reading head and the grating ruler body, and a spacing of about 1-1.5mm between the reading head and the grating ruler body.

2. Installation of grating ruler displacement sensor main ruler

Use M4 screws to attach the grating ruler to the mounting surface of the worktable on the machine tool, but do not tighten it tightly. Fix the dial gauge on the bed and move the worktable (the ruler and worktable move simultaneously). Measure the parallelism between the main ruler plane and the machine tool guide rail movement direction with a dial gauge, adjust the position of the M4 screw on the main ruler to ensure that the parallelism of the main ruler is within 0.1mm/1000mm, and then tighten the M2 screw *.

When installing the grating ruler, the following three points should be noted:

(1) When installing the main ruler, if installing gratings exceeding 1.5M, it is not possible to install only the two ends like a bridge, and support must be provided throughout the entire main ruler body. (2) After installation with a base, use a clip to clamp the midpoint (or points) of the ruler body. (3) When the clip cannot be installed, use glass glue to stick the grating ruler body to fix the base ruler and main ruler.

3. Installation of Reading Head for Grating Linear Displacement Sensor

When installing the reading head, first ensure that the base surface of the reading head meets the installation requirements, and then install the reading head. The installation method is similar to that of the main ruler. Then adjust the reading head so that the parallelism between the reading head and the main ruler of the grating is within 0.1mm, and the gap between the reading head and the main ruler is controlled within 1~1.5mm.

4. Grating ruler displacement sensor limit device

After installing all the grating line displacement sensors, it is necessary to install a limit device on the machine tool guide rail to prevent the reading head from colliding with the two ends of the main ruler when the machine tool moves the processed product, thereby damaging the grating ruler. In addition, when purchasing a grating line displacement sensor, users should try to choose a grating ruler that exceeds the machining size of the machine by about 100mm to leave room for error.

5. Inspection of grating ruler displacement sensor

After the installation of the grating line displacement sensor is completed, the digital display meter can be connected, the workbench can be moved, and the counting of the digital display meter can be observed to see if it is normal.

Select a reference position on the machine tool and move the working point back and forth to the selected position. The reading of the digital display should be the same (or return to zero). In addition, a dial gauge (or dial indicator) can also be used to adjust the dial gauge and digital display to zero simultaneously (or memorize the starting data), and after multiple repetitions, return to the initial position to observe whether the data from the digital display and dial gauge are consistent.

Through the above work, the installation of the grating ruler displacement sensor is completed. But for general machine tool processing environments, there are more iron filings, cutting fluids, and oil stains. Therefore, sensors should be equipped with protective covers. The design of the protective cover is determined by enlarging the cross-sectional area of the sensor to leave a certain space size. The protective cover is usually sealed with rubber to provide it with certain waterproof and oil resistant capabilities.

Attention:

(1) When plugging and unplugging the grating ruler sensor and digital display meter plug socket, the power should be turned off before proceeding.

(2) As much as possible, add a protective cover and promptly clean up the chips and oil splashed on the ruler to strictly prevent any foreign objects from entering the sensor housing of the grating ruler.

(3) Regularly check whether the connecting screws of each installation are loose.

(4) To extend the lifespan of the dust-proof sealing strip, a thin layer of silicone oil can be evenly applied to the sealing strip, taking care not to splash onto the engraved surface of the glass grating.

(5) To ensure the reliability of the grating scale sensor, the grating scale surface and indicator grating surface can be cleaned and wiped with a mixture of ethanol (50% each) at regular intervals to keep the glass grating scale surface clean.

(6) The grating ruler sensor must not be subjected to severe vibrations or falls to avoid damaging the grating ruler. If the grating ruler breaks, the grating ruler sensor will become ineffective.

(7) Do not disassemble the grating ruler sensor by yourself, and do not arbitrarily change the relative distance between the main grating ruler and the auxiliary grating ruler, otherwise it may damage the accuracy of the grating ruler sensor on the one hand; On the other hand, it may also cause relative friction between the main grating ruler and the auxiliary grating ruler, damaging the chromium layer and the grating line, resulting in the scrapping of the grating ruler.

(8) Attention should be paid to preventing oil and water pollution of the grating surface to avoid damaging the distribution of grating line stripes and causing measurement errors.

(9) Grating ruler sensors should avoid working in environments with severe corrosion to prevent corrosion of the grating chromium layer and grating ruler surface, which can damage the quality of the grating ruler.
