The two sealing surfaces of the commonly used mode gate valve form a wedge shape, and the wedge angle varies with the valve parameters, usually 50. The gate of the wedge type knife gate valve can be made as a whole, called a rigid gate; It can also be made into a gate that can produce slight deformation to improve its processability and compensate for the deviation of the sealing surface angle during the processing. This type of gate is called an elastic gate knife gate valve. When the gate is closed, the sealing surface can be sealed only by the medium pressure, that is, the sealing surface of the gate is pressed against the valve seat on the other side by the medium pressure to ensure the sealing surface is sealed, which is called self sealing. Most knife type gate valves use forced sealing, which means that when the valve is closed, the gate must be forcefully pressed against the valve seat by external force to ensure the sealing surface is sealed.
Knife gate valves, due to the use of knife shaped gate plates, have good shear performance and are suitable for difficult to control fluids such as pulp, powder, and fibers. They are widely used in industries such as papermaking, petrochemicals, mining, drainage, and food. Knife gate valves have multiple valve seats to choose from, and can be equipped with electric devices or pneumatic actuators according to on-site control requirements to achieve automated operation of the valve.
Advantages of stainless steel knife gate valve:

Disadvantages of stainless steel knife gate valve:
1. The sealing surfaces are prone to erosion and abrasion, making maintenance difficult.
2. The external dimensions are large, requiring a certain amount of space for opening and a long opening and closing time.
