1. Definition and importance of laboratory ventilation system

The laboratory ventilation system is one of the widely used systems in laboratory design and construction. It is a building environment control technology that controls the spread and harm of air pollutants by means of ventilation dilution or ventilation elimination, achieving indoor and outdoor air quality assurance.

2. Characteristics of Engineering Design

Air conditioning system: It should be divided according to the college. The main building is a centralized cold and heat source, semi centralized air conditioning system. The office and ordinary laboratory use fan coil units with fresh air system, and the clean laboratory uses a full air system.

Clean laboratory: There are various forms of purification air conditioning, including unit type direct evaporation air conditioning units, etc.

3. Requirements and specifications for laboratory ventilation design

Ventilation purpose: To provide a safe and comfortable working environment, reducing the possibility of personnel exposure to hazardous air.

Fresh air requirement: All fresh air comes from outdoors and is then 100% discharged outdoors. The exhaust from the fume hood does not circulate indoors.

Ventilation frequency: Chemical laboratories require ventilation at least 10 times per hour, while physics laboratories require ventilation at least 6 times per hour.

Exhaust system: When there is no one in the laboratory, ventilation can be reduced by 6 times. The number of laboratory fume hoods should be sufficient and not used as one of the indoor exhaust devices.

4. Design principles for laboratory ventilation system

Air volume balance: The exhaust and makeup air system should achieve air volume balance and maintain indoor negative pressure of -5pa-10Pa.

Temperature control: Supplement cold air in summer and warm air in winter to ensure comfortable indoor temperature.

Noise and odor: Fully consider noise and odor in the design to prevent secondary pollution.

5. Technical parameters and specifications of laboratory ventilation system

Ventilation rate: The laboratory's ventilation rate is set at 8-20 times per hour.

Wind speed: The wind speed inside the branch pipe is taken as 6-12m/s, and the wind speed inside the main pipe is taken as 8-14m/s.

Exhaust air volume: The designed exhaust air volume for a single 1500 fume hood is 1500m3/h, and the designed exhaust air volume for a single 1800 fume hood is 1800m3/h.

6. Construction plan for laboratory ventilation engineering

Project Background: With the development of technology, the importance of laboratory ventilation engineering is becoming increasingly prominent.

Construction objective: To build a ventilation system that can meet the requirements of the laboratory, including indoor air quality management, harmful gas emissions, and temperature and humidity control.

7. Standard Specification for Design and Installation of Ventilation Systems in Chemical Laboratories

Heating and ventilation: should strictly comply with the relevant provisions of GB 50019 and SH/T 3004.

Local exhaust: For places where toxic, odorous, corrosive or explosive gases, dust and other substances are generated locally, local exhaust should be considered first.
