myoglobin（Myoglobin (Mb) is a small molecule pigment protein composed of globin and heme, which can reversibly bind with oxygen to form MbO2. MbO2 is called oxygenated myoglobin, while Mb is called deoxygenated myoglobin. It has the function of transporting and storing oxygen within muscle cells. When the myocardium is damaged, it diffuses out of the myocardial cells and enters the bloodstream. Myosin only exists in the myocardium and skeletal muscle, and other tissues including smooth muscle do not contain this protein.
