Rectangular saddle ring is a type of bulk packing widely used in extraction towers, with good corrosion and heat resistance, and is a high-quality bulk packing. The shape of the saddle ring packing is between annular and saddle shaped, which has the advantages of both, facilitating liquid distribution and increasing gas channels. Compared to Ball Ring, it has lower resistance, higher flux, better packing strength and stiffness, and is currently widely used as a bulk packing. This type of packing combines the advantages of annular packing and saddle packing. It has the characteristics of pressure reduction, high flux, and good fluid redistribution performance in the packing layer.

The saddle ring packing cleverly combines the structural characteristics of the open ring packing and the general saddle packing, namely the ring, ring wall opening, and inner protruding tongue piece similar to the open ring packing, as well as the arc channel similar to the saddle packing. In addition, the flanging on both sides of the saddle shape and the tooth shaped structure at the lower ends jointly increase the point contact between the fillers, increase the gap ratio between the fillers, and increase the liquid collection and dispersion points. The open structure of this packing material increases the flux and reduces the pressure drop, which is also beneficial for the distribution of liquid on the packing surface and promotes surface renewal of the liquid, thereby improving the mass transfer performance of the packing material.
The shape of the saddle ring is between circular and saddle shaped, which can avoid overlap while ensuring a certain strength and rigidity. The several small claws punched out can enhance gas-liquid agitation, avoid adhesion or polymerization, improve mass transfer efficiency, and enhance product quality.
