The DTB cooling crystallizer, like the DTB vacuum crystallizer, has a guide tube and an annular partition, which divides the internal space of the crystallizer into a slurry circulation zone and a clarification zone. The difference is that supersaturation occurs in external heat exchangers.

Due to supersaturation being a control factor of the system and relying on a circulating pump, there is no need for stirring inside the crystallizer.

The internal circulation flux of the crystallizer includes not only the external circulation volume but also the additional circulation volume generated by the Wen's effect. Therefore, the elimination of supersaturation inside the crystallizer is relatively sufficient.

Due to the inconvenient cleaning of the external cooler of the DTB cooling crystallizer, this solution is not frequently used.

Scope of application:

Suitable for cooling and crystallization of materials with steep solubility curves, such as ammonium chloride, nitrate, iminodiacetonitrile, amino acids, etc. It can also be used for reaction crystallization, where an external heat exchanger is used to remove reaction heat or supplement heat to the reaction system to maintain a certain reaction temperature.
