Validation of animal experimental indicators/Design of animal modeling experiment planThe selected animals must be healthy and meet the requirements of experimental animal management, and different levels of animals should be selected according to different experimental requirements. Secondly, the age and gender of the animal should be appropriate. Adult animals are commonly used in general experiments, but when observing the effects of drugs on growth, development, endocrine systems, etc., juvenile animals are preferred. When observing the anti-aging effect of drugs, it is necessary to use elderly animals or specialized model animals with a faster aging process. Generally, half male and half female animals are used in experiments, but female animals are required for teratogenic experiments and drugs that affect the female reproductive system. Some special experiments require the use of single sex animals, while hot plate analgesia experiments use female animals.
Note that animals of different species and humans have both similarities and differences in their reactions to drugs. A correct understanding of these similarities is of great significance for evaluating pharmacology. Because of their commonality, the results of animal experiments are meaningful for inferring clinical conditions. Differentiation is also a common phenomenon that requires sufficient estimation. Not only are there differences between animals and humans, but there are also significant differences in drug responses between different species of animals and even different strains of the same genus.
Different strains of experimental animals have a common response to the same factor, but some may also exhibit specific reactions. How to fully utilize these special reactions and select animals that are most sensitive to experimental factors is also very valuable for experimental research.
