The measurement principle of ISE is based on the relationship between the activity and concentration of ions in electrolyte solutions. ISE typically consists of two sensors: a working sensor and a reference sensor. A working sensor is a sensor that selectively reacts with the ion being measured, while a reference sensor provides a stable potential as a reference. Work sensors are typically coated with a selective membrane that can react specifically with specific ions. When the tested ion reacts with the selective membrane, a potential change occurs, and the concentration of the ion can be determined by measuring this potential change.
