Honeywell's FSL100 flame detector is a UV and IR flame detector that can monitor distances up to 115 feet and assess the presence of radiant energy in areas prone to fire. The Honeywell FSL100 flame detector is used to monitor hazardous areas and detect invisible flames outside the visible flame frequency range through infrared or ultraviolet radiation. The FSL100 flame detector can detect hydrocarbon and non hydrocarbon combustion fires to meet various fire prevention applications indoors and outdoors. These devices can resist the effects of direct and reflected sunlight, as well as artificial light sources such as fluorescent or halogen lamps. They even successfully monitored areas affected by smoke, dust, or steam. The FSL100 flame detector comes in three models, designed to cover various types of fire sources and can be used in various environments.

The FSL100-UV flame detector can monitor an area extending approximately 75 feet. It is most suitable for indoor applications such as fume hoods and hydrogen storage areas, as well as an effective solution for low-temperature combustion materials such as sulfur. The FSL100-UV alarm is triggered by fires caused by heavy hydrocarbons (wood, paper, petroleum), light hydrocarbons (methanol and methane), and hydrogen gas. The FSL100-UVIR flame detector uses flame flicker frequency analysis to improve false alarm rates. Its dual sensing method can effectively detect various hydrocarbon and non hydrocarbon fires within an area of approximately 75 feet. The device can resist the effects of arc and discharge, and is not affected by welding radiation, provided that the device is located at least ten feet away.

The FSL100-IR3 flame detector is particularly suitable for liquid hydrocarbons, dirty fires, or fires that emit large amounts of smoke. FSL100-IR3 can monitor an area of approximately 115 feet. It uses flame flicker frequency analysis to improve false alarm rates. This device can resist the effects of electric arcs and discharges, and is less affected by window pollution or smoke fires. FSL100-IR3 will also not be affected by welding radiation, provided that the equipment is at least ten feet away.
