1、 Overview of LHY Stainless Steel Sulfur Submerged Pump

LHY stainless steel sulfur submersible pump is suitable for transporting liquid sulfur at 130-158 degrees Celsius in various scales of sulfur based sulfuric acid production processes. It is also applicable to other chemical processes that require small flow rates and high head. Due to its extremely high head, small flow rate, and low specific speed, it is no longer possible to achieve performance requirements using a centrifugal pump for LHY liquid sulfur pumps. Using a vortex pump would result in unstable performance during operation, so a new technology was adopted for ineffective design, which has special advantages that ordinary centrifugal pumps and vortex pumps do not possess. 2、 LHY stainless steel sulfur submersible pump sectional view

When the immersion depth exceeds 2m, an intermediate bearing needs to be added. The pump shaft is supported by ball bearings located at the top of the storage tank and sliding bearings immersed in sulfur liquid, which are lubricated by sulfur itself.


The recommended maximum speed for the vertical sulfur pump should not exceed 1500r/min at 50Hz or 1800r/min at 60Hz to avoid excessive temperature inside the sliding bearings. The vertical molten sulfur pump has a comprehensive insulation jacket design on the outlet elbow, shaft, and outlet pipe.


For special requirements, vertical pumps can have many unique designs. For example, a pump can be equipped with three-stage impellers to ensure high pressure head at low speeds. The outlet pipe and shaft are designed in a compact manner, which ensures good thermal stability, especially for situations where the immersion depth is very long. This compact design can make the opening on the storage tank very small. In addition, all pumps are designed with double volutes to minimize radial forces, reduce wear on sliding bearings, and increase the mean time between failures (MTBF) of the pump.


According to the composition of different media, the available materials for the molten sulfur pump include cast iron, cast steel, and stainless steel.


3、 Structural characteristics of Huier LHY sulfur submersible pump


1. This series of pumps is a vertical insulated submersible pump. The outlet pipe of the pump is equipped with steam or thermal oil insulation jacket from the pump body and front pump cover.

2. This series of pumps mainly consists of pump body, impeller, front pump cover, pump shaft, bend pipe, outlet pipe, intermediate connecting pipe, bottom plate and bearing box, motor seat and other components.

3. The impeller of this series of pumps is a star shaped structure. Its structure is simple and easy to manufacture. The impeller is equipped with balance holes to balance the axial force, which can be considered completely balanced, providing great benefits for the operation of the pump.

4. This series rotates counterclockwise when viewed from the motor end.

When transporting liquid sulfur and other flammable media, this pump generally uses YB series explosion-proof motors, and other types of motors can also be selected according to user requirements.
