Ba'an Water's sea gas desulfurization (SWFGD) technology is a high-tech designed specifically for power plants and certified as "ultra clean emissions". This technology not only does not require the addition of other chemical absorbents, but also does not produce by-products, and does not cause secondary pollution to the surrounding environment. Sea gas desulfurization technology refers to the technology of using the natural characteristics of seawater to absorb and neutralize sulfur dioxide (SO2) in flue gas. Ba'an Water has independent intellectual property rights for this technology. The SWFGD process is very safe and reliable. It does not produce by-products, nor does it cause secondary pollution or harm to the ocean and atmosphere. Moreover, the removal rate of SO2 by this technology (>95%) is much higher than traditional flue gas desulfurization technology. In addition, the process system is simple, reliable, and easy to maintain, with low initial investment and operating energy consumption. Therefore, SWFGD is considered a simple and economical flue gas desulfurization process that can be selected for coal-fired power plants in coastal areas. In 2007, Ba'an Water undertook the national 863 key project "Large coal-fired power plant boiler flue gas seawater desulfurization technology and demonstration". Through extensive research work and project engineering, the flue gas seawater desulfurization technology and engineering design software package for large coal-fired power plant boilers were successfully applied for and became the company's independent intellectual property. The following are the main chemical reactions in seawater desulfurization process: SO2 (g) ↔ SO2 (aq) SO2 (aq) + H2O ↔ HSO3- + H+ HSO3- ↔ SO32- + H+ CO32- + H+ ↔ HCO3- HCO3- + H+ ↔ CO2 (g)+H2O SO32-+1/2O2 → SO42- After being treated by sea gas desulfurization technology, the flue gas quality and seawater quality are as follows: high SO2 removal rate: ≥ 95% (outlet SO2 concentration:<35 mg/Nm3). After treatment, the flue gas quality: smoke concentration ≤ 5 mg/Nm3, SO2 concentration ≤ 35 mg/Nm3, NOX concentration ≤ 50 mg/Nm3. Discharge seawater quality: pH ≥ 6.8, DO ≥ 3 mg/L, SO32- oxidation rate ≥ 90%, CODMn increment ≤ 2.5 mg/L. SWFGD technology has been developed and experienced for many years. The professional team of Ba'an Water has been able to provide integrated research and development, design, layout, construction, commissioning, operation management, and after-sales service. As a marketer in the field of SWFGD technology for large boilers in China, Ba'an Water has led the compilation of the "Technical Specification for Flue Gas Desulfurization Engineering in Thermal Power Plants - Sea Water Law" (Ministry of Environmental Protection). At present, Ba'an Water has achieved 84% and 29% respectively in the SWFGD technology field at home and abroad, and is aiming to become a pioneer in this field and move towards internationalization.
