Precautions for using stainless steel multi-stage centrifugal pump
1、 Installation and pre startup inspection
1. Installation specifications: The pump body should be installed horizontally on a stable foundation, and the anchor bolts should be tightened to prevent vibration; The import and export pipelines need to be independently supported to avoid the pump body bearing the weight of the pipeline. Check the coaxiality between the motor and pump shaft, with a deviation of ≤ 0.1mm, to prevent bearing wear during operation.
2. Medium and temperature: Confirm that the conveying medium is a clean liquid (containing solid particles ≤ 0.1mm), avoiding fiber or corrosive media (except for special stainless steel materials); The temperature of the medium should be within the range of -20 ℃ to 120 ℃, as overheating may cause mechanical seal failure.
3. Pump exhaust: Before starting, fully open the inlet valve, open the exhaust valve of the pump body to exhaust the air, ensure that the pump is filled with medium, and strictly prohibit idling (idling can cause dry wear and damage to the impeller).
2、 Operation and monitoring
1. Startup steps: Close the outlet valve, turn on the power, and observe whether the direction of rotation is correct (reverse rotation will cause a sudden drop in flow). After the speed stabilizes, slowly open the outlet valve to the rated working condition to avoid motor overload (current does not exceed 110% of the rated value).
2. Parameter monitoring: Real time monitoring of pressure gauge readings. If the pressure fluctuation exceeds the rated value ± 5%, it may be due to cavitation or impeller wear; Touch the bearing area. If the temperature exceeds the ambient temperature by 40 ℃ or the surface is hot, stop the machine and check if the lubricating grease is missing (normally, lithium grease should be replenished every 2000 hours).
3、 Key points for shutdown and maintenance
1. Normal shutdown: Close the outlet valve first, then cut off the power to prevent the medium from flowing back and causing the impeller to reverse; When shutting down for a long time, drain the liquid from the pump and rinse the impeller and flow channel with clean water to avoid corrosion caused by medium crystallization.
2. Regular maintenance: Check the mechanical seal end face every 1000 hours of operation, and replace the sealing ring if there is a leak (leakage rate>5 drops/minute); Disassemble the pump body every quarter, clean the debris between the impeller and guide vanes, and measure the bearing clearance (replace if it exceeds 0.3mm).
4、 Special working conditions and safety tips
1. High pressure condition: The rated pressure of the multi-stage pump should match the system requirements to avoid overpressure operation (exceeding 15% of the rated pressure may cause the pump body to burst).
2. Rust prevention maintenance: If stainless steel components come into contact with seawater or high salt media, the surface should be rinsed with fresh water after shutdown to prevent chloride ion corrosion.
3. Fault handling: If the pump body vibrates violently, it may be due to impeller imbalance or bearing damage, and the machine needs to be disassembled to calibrate the dynamic balance; If the flow continues to decrease, check whether the suction pipeline is leaking or whether the impeller is scaling.
