Based on the existing information, excessive vertical mixing of water flow in the ultraviolet irradiation area can lead to insufficient irradiation in certain parts, and similarly, insufficient horizontal mixing may also cause the same situation to occur. A reasonable inlet structure and channel design for ultraviolet disinfectors can ensure uniform flow rate in multi-stage reactors. Similarly, a reasonable design of the outlet and pipeline system of the wastewater ultraviolet disinfection device can ensure that the outlet condition does not have adverse effects on the hydraulic state of the reactor at the end. It is generally desirable to have a uniform flow velocity distribution, but this does not guarantee good hydraulic conditions in the ultraviolet irradiation area. When the import and export conditions are inconsistent, it is necessary to measure the distribution of flow rate in the sewage ultraviolet disinfection device.
The ultraviolet disinfection system used in drinking water should not be scaled up for small-scale equipment due to the price factor of ultraviolet disinfection. Only actual reactors that have been validated according to the UV disinfection protocol can be used. After verification, the reactor module arrangement can be used in practical applications.
In the layout of the ultraviolet disinfection system, the following hydraulic factors must be considered:

5. The existence and operation of cleaning equipment are required.
