Environmental Protection Online Interview with Han Siqi, Domestic Marketing Manager of Meiyi
Facing the new demands of the industry and making online monitoring data more reliable
Against the backdrop of continuously refining environmental regulations and accelerating digital upgrading in the water treatment industry, the value of online water quality monitoring is undergoing changes. In the past, project sites focused more on whether there was data available; Nowadays, customers are more concerned about whether data is stable, reliable, and able to support daily management and process judgment.
Manager Han stated that in recent years, the water treatment industry has put forward higher requirements for online monitoring. Nowadays, customers not only hope that instruments can measure data, but also hope that the data is stable and reliable, and can provide effective reference for operational management
From urban sewage treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, to discharge monitoring, river water quality monitoring and other scenarios, there are increasingly more parameters that need to be paid attention to in water treatment sites. In addition to water quality indicators such as COD, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, and total nitrogen, flow rate, liquid level, pressure pH、 The process parameters such as conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity also jointly affect the system's operational judgment.
In Manager Han's view, the core value of online monitoring is not just to obtain a single value, but to help on-site personnel detect anomalies in a timely manner through stable, continuous, and traceable data, and provide support for process adjustments and refined operations.
For nearly 20 years, Meiyi has been deeply involved in the field of process automation, continuously promoting product iteration and scenario based solution research and development. Its products cover multiple directions such as flow rate, pressure, liquid level, temperature, water quality analysis, display control, etc., serving industrial scenarios such as water treatment, chemical industry, energy, food and beverage, and has served over 800000 industrial enterprise customers in more than 160 countries and regions worldwide.
Get rid of single point stacking and build a data link for water treatment sites
Online water quality monitoring is not simply about installing a few more instruments, but about combining different on-site environments, management requirements, and process flows to form a more systematic response plan, "Manager Han said in an interview.
At the water treatment site, any abnormality in any link may be reflected through changes in multiple parameters. For example, COD is commonly used to characterize the comprehensive pollution load of oxidizable substances in water bodies; Ammonia nitrogen can reflect the level of nitrogen-containing pollutants; Total phosphorus and total nitrogen are closely related to the risk and treatment effectiveness of eutrophication in water bodies. Different indicators do not exist in isolation, but together reflect the operational status of the system.
Therefore, the demand for monitoring systems in the water treatment industry is gradually shifting from "single point measurement" to "overall perception". In project applications, Meiyi will combine the process parameters, water quality indicators, and digital management needs of the customer's site to carry out product combinations and scheme configurations, helping the customer establish a more complete data monitoring system.
At this World Environment Conference, Meiyi highlighted the MDS300 water quality online monitoring system. This system is designed for application scenarios such as sewage treatment, tap water, industrial parks, discharge outlets, and rivers. It can configure corresponding monitoring indicators according to different project requirements to support multi parameter centralized monitoring, data display, anomaly investigation, and daily operation and maintenance management.
Compared to the dispersed installation and independent maintenance of multiple instruments, systematic monitoring is more conducive to reducing the complexity of on-site management, improving data viewing and equipment maintenance efficiency. Manager Han introduced that the MDS300 water quality online monitoring system integrates power distribution, water collection and distribution, control, and detectiondata collectionTransmission units can be flexibly configured according to project requirements to provide data support for water quality assessment, anomaly warning, and operational management.
In addition, Meiyi also showcased ammonia nitrogen COD、 Online monitoring products for water quality such as total phosphorus and total nitrogen. It is reported that the relevant products have obtained CCEP certification, providing further support for the standardized application of the products in environmental water treatment scenarios, and also providing reference for customer selection and project implementation.
Regarding the significance of certification, Manager Han said, "Obtaining certification is not the end point of product improvement, but a new starting point for us to continue improving our product capabilities and service levels. Ultimately, what customers focus on is the stability, reliability, and maintenance convenience of the product during long-term on-site operation
From instruments to platforms, promote better management of on-site data
As the digital and intelligent transformation of the manufacturing industry continues to advance, the limitations of traditional manual inspection and offline analysis models in terms of timeliness, continuity, and management efficiency are gradually becoming apparent. For the environmental water treatment industry, how to collect, transmit and apply on-site data in a more timely manner has become an important direction for smart water management and refined operation.
Around this trend, Meiyi is improving its capabilities from two aspects: hardware intelligence and platform digitization. On the one hand, continuously improving the stability, environmental adaptability, and on-site adaptability of instruments and sensors; On the other hand, through platform based tools such as "Instrument Cloud", customers can achieve remote viewing, abnormal alarms, device management, and data analysis.
It is understood that the Meiyi "Instrument Cloud" platform can upload on-site instrument data to the cloud through IoT modules or built-in communication modules. Customers can log in to the platform through a mobile app or web platform to view device operation status, monitoring data, and alarm information, thereby improving on-site management efficiency.
Manager Han said that in the past, customers may only need one pH meter or oneElectromagnetic FlowmeterBut now, customers are increasingly concerned about the data performance of the entire process chain. We hope to help customers gradually move from single point measurement to overall perception through continuous improvement of products, systems, and services
At the water treatment site, there is a close relationship between data such as flow rate, liquid level, pressure, and water quality indicators. Only by combining these key parameters can on-site management personnel have a more comprehensive understanding of the system's operating status and quickly locate problems when anomalies occur.
Improve service network to support long-term stable operation of products
For process instrumentation companies, product delivery is just the beginning of service. Water treatment sites often have complex working conditions, and the long-term operation of equipment is affected by multiple factors such as medium characteristics, environmental conditions, and maintenance levels. Therefore, high-quality products need to be matched with sustained service capabilities.
At present, Meiyi has established a service network in more than 40 cities across the country and continues to improve its overseas warehouse and service network layout. Centered around the needs of water treatment sites, Meiyi extends its services to early stage communication, product selection, sampling point recommendations, on-site guidance, operation training, and subsequent operation and maintenance support, providing guarantees for the long-term stable operation of equipment.
Manager Han believes that service is not an additional item beyond the product, but an important component of process automation enterprise capabilities. In the future, Meiyi will continue to focus on offline service networks, overseas layout, and digital operation and maintenance capabilities to improve the efficiency of pre-sales, in sales, and after-sales services throughout the entire chain, and better respond to the actual needs of customers in different scenarios.
  Conclusion
From single point measurement to overall perception, from single instruments to systematic solutions, from on-site data collection to platform management, Meiyi showcased its product layout and application thinking for the environmental water treatment industry at this year's World Environmental Protection Conference.
In the context of accelerating the refinement and digitization of the water treatment industry, the stability, continuity, and availability of key data are becoming an important foundation for project operation management.
