AusGeneX was formerly known as Clone Technologies,Fetal bovine serum manufacturer,Established in 2003. The company produced the first bottle of Australian fetal bovine serum in 2003. Earlier, Clone Technologies had two departments: Diagnostics and Serum. In 2006, the serum department was spun off from Clone Technologies due to its rapid development, and AusGeneX was established as a result.
