Working Principle:

The Q41F gas specific ball valve is equipped with a spring static electricity outlet device, which means that conductive springs are installed between the ball and the valve stem, and between the valve stem and the valve body, forming static electricity channels between the ball and the valve stem, and between the valve stem and the valve body, achieving the purpose of clearing static electricity. Avoid static electricity igniting flammable media to ensure system safety. When a fire occurs and the soft sealing ring such as polytetrafluoroethylene is burned, the ball valve can still operate reliably and have good sealing performance to prevent the expansion of the fire.

The difference between fireproof and anti-static ball valves and ordinary ball valves:

Fire resistant and anti-static ball valves are mainly used for gas pipelines with flammable and explosive media. For example, coal gas, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, and their mixtures. Ordinary ball valves are used for non flammable and non explosive pipelines, such as water, air, etc. The main difference between the two lies in their internal structure, which cannot be distinguished by their appearance.

Fire prevention is divided into three parts: fire prevention at the ball core and valve seat (B), fire prevention at the flange in the valve body (C), and fire prevention at the valve stem (A).

Fireproof at the core and valve seat. A soft sealed ball valve is a structure that can maintain a certain sealing performance even when the valve seat is burned out by high temperature in the event of a fire. That is to minimize the occurrence of internal leakage as much as possible. Although hard sealed ball valves can prevent the seat of soft sealed ball valves from burning out during a fire, it is difficult for hard sealed ball valves to achieve the sealing performance of soft sealed ball valves during normal operation, and there may be slight internal leakage, especially in gas pipelines. Soft sealed ball valves are more widely used.

The soft seal valve seat of the fireproof ball valve is embedded in the groove of the valve body. During normal operation, the soft seal valve seat maintains sealing. When the soft seal valve seat burns out, the ball core is pushed by the medium pressure to the metal sealing surface near the inner ring, maintaining a hard sealing state and reducing internal leakage. The valve seat of a regular ball valve is directly installed between the valve body and the ball core. After the soft seal valve seat burns out, it cannot effectively form a metal hard seal.

Fireproof at the flange of the ball valve. The ball valve body is a two-piece or three piece split structure, which is assembled by bolts. There are O-ring seals and graphite metal wrapped gaskets between each section of the valve body to maintain sealing. After the O-ring is burned during a fire, the graphite metal wrapped gasket still keeps the valve body from leaking or leaks a small amount. There is also a metal contact seal between the valve bodies. For one-piece structure ball valves, the valve body is integral and the valve body is basically not leaking out.

Fireproof at the valve stem. The sealing packing of the valve stem, polytetrafluoroethylene, is melted at high temperature. The pressure inside the valve body will push the valve stem out of the valve body, and the shoulder on the valve stem will be blocked by the valve body. And use the pressure inside the valve body to press the valve stem tightly, forming a seal. This bottom mounted valve stem can also prevent the valve stem from being pushed out of the valve body by the medium pressure when the pressure in the ball valve chamber is abnormally increased, ensuring safety. High temperature resistant flexible graphite fillers and special fillers such as graphite metal wire combination compression can be used as fillers.

Anti static structure. According to the national standard GB/T12237, for ball valves with a diameter ≤ DN50, the valve stem and body can conduct electricity. For ball valves larger than DN50, it is necessary to ensure that the ball core, valve stem, and valve body can conduct electricity. When the power supply voltage does not exceed 12V, the anti-static resistance between the ball core, valve stem, and valve body is less than 10 Ω.

The conductive structure is drilled with small holes at two locations on the valve stem, one in contact with the valve body and the other in contact with the ball core. Install springs and small metal balls inside the small hole. The small metal ball is lifted by a spring to ensure contact with the valve body, valve stem, and ball core, forming a conductive circuit.
