A fully automatic filter is an intelligent solid-liquid separation equipment that achieves the entire process of filtration, cleaning, and slag discharge without manual intervention. Its core lies in integrating PLC or DCS control systems, accurately controlling actuators such as valves and motors through pre-set programs, and automatically completing a complete filtration cycle. This equipment usually adopts a vertical closed pressure vessel design, with special tubular or blade type filter elements installed inside, which is particularly suitable for large-scale, continuous production or processes with strict hygiene and safety requirements. It is a key equipment for achieving efficient and stable production in the fields of chemical, food, pharmaceutical, water treatment, etc.

Fully automatic filterIt represents the advanced form of intelligent and intensive development of filtering technology. It deeply integrates good automatic control technology with efficient filtration mechanism, achieving fully automatic continuous operation from feeding, filtering, washing, pressure drying to slag unloading and filter regeneration, changing the traditional mode of relying on manual operation for filters.


The typical composition of this device includes a sealed pressurized tank, a set of precision filter elements (such as metal sintered filter tubes and filters) inside the tank, and a highly integrated automation system. An automation system is its "brain" and "nerve", typically composed of a programmable logic controller (PLC), pneumatic or electric valve assembly, pressure sensors, transmission devices, and human-machine interface (HMI), which collaboratively control every step of the entire filtration process.
The standard working cycle is as follows:


  1. Automatic feed filtrationThe system automatically opens the feed valve, and the material is pushed into the tank by the pump. The liquid passes through the filter element under pressure, the clear liquid is discharged, and the solid is trapped to form a filter cake.


  2. Automatic washing/pressure drying (optional)The filtration is complete, and the system can automatically introduce washing solution for cake washing according to instructions. Subsequently, compressed gas can be introduced to compress and dry the filter cake to reduce the liquid content.


  3. Automatic slag unloadingThis is a technical key. At the end of the process, the control system first releases the pressure inside the tank and then activates the unique slag discharge mechanism. Common methods include:


    • Backblowing of airflowAutomatically open the compressed air valve, and the instantaneous high-pressure airflow will reverse the filter element, causing the dry filter cake to crack and fall off.


    • Mechanical scraping and unloadingDrive the mechanical scraper device inside the tank to rotate and scrape the filter cake off the surface of the filter element.


  4. Automatic slag discharge and cleaningThe detached filter residue is automatically discharged through the bottom slag discharge valve of the tank. Afterwards, the system can automatically execute the online cleaning (CIP) program to ensure the regeneration of the filter element and prepare for the next cycle.
