The mainstream boiler feedwater pumps in the market are mainly multi-stage centrifugal pumps, which can be divided into two categories according to their structure and technical route: traditional multi-stage pumps and self balancing multi-stage pumps.
1、 Working principle
The motor drives the impeller to rotate at high speed, and the liquid is thrown from the center to the surroundings under the action of centrifugal force. It is gradually pressurized through the guide shell, and finally obtains sufficient head and is sent into the boiler steam drum; Multi stage series connection can achieve ultra-high head of 12-1200 m or even 1800 m.
2、 Structural characteristics
1. Traditional type
Horizontal, multi-stage, segmented structure, with the shell horizontally divided along the axis, and the suction and discharge ports can be arranged vertically upward or horizontally;
Using a balance disk/balance drum to counteract axial force, the structure is mature and the accessories are universal. However, after long-term operation, the balance disk is prone to wear and requires regular adjustment of axial displacement.
2. Self balancing type
Symmetrically arrange the impeller rotor, and the axial force generated by the two sets of impellers in the forward and reverse directions is basically self canceling. Cancel the balance disk device, eliminate the wear and backflow loss of the balance disk;
Higher efficiency than traditional models, longer operating time, extended maintenance cycle, and significantly improved shaft seal reliability.
IIISelection and use
1. NPSHr cavitation allowance
Must meet the requirement of on-site effective cavitation allowance NPSHa ≥ NPSHr+0.5 m; It is recommended to arrange the deaerator or flash evaporator at a high position under high temperature conditions to prevent vaporization cavitation.
2. Material selection
Standard configuration of overcurrent components: 304/316 stainless steel or ductile iron+stainless steel shaft sleeve;
Adopting stainless steel integral casting, the sealing ring adopts quenching treatment.
3. Sealing scheme
Choose soft packing seal for ≤ 1.6 MPa, easy maintenance;
Select mechanical seal with cooling water jacket for ≥ 2.5 MPa.
4. Variable speed adjustment
It is recommended to equip large units with high-voltage frequency converters to achieve stepless flow regulation by adjusting the speed.
5. Intelligent monitoring
The new self balancing pump can integrate online monitoring of bearing temperature, vibration, and leakage to achieve predictive maintenance and avoid sudden shutdowns.
