Instrument Introduction:
The CBME80B cloud height meter is a single machine instrument produced by ELIASSON, a Swedish company, which can accurately obtain information such as cloud height. It can be fixed or moved for installation. It uses the low-power diode lidar principle that ensures eye safety to detect clouds. This cloud altimeter has a detection range of 25000 feet and maintains very high accuracy. CBME80B is very stable and has been verified to work without faults for over 150000 hours.
The main advantages of the CBME80B cloud height meter are its size, weight, power requirements, and modern design. The smaller size and weight make the CBME80B easy to move and maintain with only one person. This cloud high-altitude instrument can be carried with one hand and can operate using a 12 volt DC battery (or solar cell, or AC main current). The main advantage of CBME80B is its electronic design of modems, which reduces the number of replaceable components in both series and allows for full domain replacement without adjustment or calibration.
CBME80B uses unique digital signal processing technology and laser technology that ensures eye safety. This special design also increases the lifespan of the laser to over ten years. CBME80B has outputs that can display different types and recording units. The RS-232C interface supports local control, testing, and data acquisition. For remote control and data acquisition, an internal FSK modem can be used. The digital reader on the cloud height meter provides cloud height base and operational status information.
The CBME80B cloud height meter has built-in testing equipment that automatically calibrates operating parameters and self diagnoses. The cyclic automatic testing fully covers the operation of the cloud altimeter and reports the current status in each output message. The electronic components are in two easy to operate modules, one is the power module and the other is the printer circuit board module. No regular calibration or adjustment is required. CBME80B has been tested for vibration, shock, pulse voltage, transient phenomena, operating temperature, EMI magnetization, and radiation in accordance with IEC environmental standards.
