Instrument Introduction:
The eight stage impact sampler is a multi-stage, porous stage impact sampler used for graded collection of particulate matter in the atmosphere, analyzing mass concentration and particle size distribution. The impact sampler is designed based on aerodynamic principles and consists of 8 impact disks, each with a rigorously designed number and diameter of acceleration jet small holes. When the sample airflow passes through each stage of the impact disk, the larger particles directly impact and stay on the surface of the impact disk due to inertia, while the smaller particles pass through with the airflow and reach the next stage of the impact disk. Aerosol particles with different aerodynamic particle sizes are separated and collected on various sampling membranes based on aerodynamic principles, which are used for weight and particle composition analysis.
The eight stage impact sampler collects particles by impact onto stainless steel surfaces or other types of filter membranes. At a flow rate of 1CFM (28.3LPM), the particle size classification range is 10.0 micrometers to 0.4 micrometers (aerodynamic diameter), and the final stage impact disk collects all particles with a diameter less than 0.4 micrometers? M particles. The sampling medium can be glass fiber, quartz Teflon? Aluminum foil, stainless steel, etc. The most commonly used filter membranes are quartz and glass fiber filter membranes.
