When the handwheel is rotated, the plunger is driven by the valve stem, causing the inclined conical surface of the plunger and the conical surface of the valve seat to reciprocate and clutch, completing the opening and closing of the valve.
In the valve, an interference fit is used between the plunger and the sealing ring. By adjusting the tightening of the fixing bolts on the valve cover, the sealing ring is compressed, and the inner ring tightly wraps around the plunger and the outer ring tightly adheres to the inner wall of the valve chamber. In this way, the radial force generated on the sealing ring will be due to the pressure of the fluid, ensuring sealing and preventing external leakage.

The elastic sealing ring can be replaced and made of various materials.
