Specification of fiberglass mesh panel:

Fiberglass grating thickness: There are standard thicknesses such as 13mm, 25mm, and 38mm, and other thickness sizes such as 30mm and 40mm are also available.

Fiberglass grating grid size: There are square holes such as 19 × 19mm, 20 × 20mm, 38 × 38mm, 50 × 50mm, 83 × 83mm, as well as rectangular holes such as 25 × 100mm, 38 × 150mm. The opening rate can be selected between 40% and 88%.

The standard dimensions for the appearance of fiberglass grating include 1220 × 3660mm, 1220 × 2440mm, 915 × 3050mm, 1524 × 3050mm, etc.

1. Lay the fiberglass grating plate on the supporting structure in the design order, ensuring that the grid direction of the grating is consistent with the direction of force (usually the long side of the grid is the direction of force, such as the walkway grating, which needs to transmit pedestrian trampling force along the long side);

2. Use a spirit level to check if the surface of the fiberglass grating is level. If there are local unevenness, a thin rubber strip (thickness 1-3mm) can be inserted between the supporting structure and the fiberglass grating to level it and avoid cracking of the grating due to uneven stress;

3. When laying, ensure that the splicing gaps between the fiberglass grating panels are uniform (expansion joints should be kept at 5-10mm, ordinary splicing joints should be ≤ 3mm), and all edges of the grating should be overlapped on the supporting structure (overlap length ≥ 50mm, if the support spacing is large, intermediate support points should be added to prevent the grating from sagging).

Fixed installation of fiberglass mesh panel:

Choosing the appropriate fixing method based on the scene is to ensure that the grille does not shift or loosen.

Method 1: U-shaped card fixation (suitable for flat installation on platforms, walkways, etc.)

Place a stainless steel U-shaped card every 300-500mm at the overlapping edge of the fiberglass grid plate (the opening size of the U-shaped card should match the thickness of the grid, such as using a 25mm opening U-shaped card for a 25mm thick grid);

Thread the two feet of the U-shaped card through the grid holes of the grille and fix it on the support structure. Use a wrench to tighten the nut that matches the U-shaped card, with the appropriate force to ensure that the grille is not loose;

Extra U-shaped clips should be added to the outer side of the edge grille, with a spacing of ≤ 300mm, to prevent the edges from curling up.

Method 2: Bolt fixation (suitable for heavy load or vibration scenarios, such as equipment platforms)

Drill holes with a glass drill bit at the connection between the fiberglass grating and the supporting structure (with a hole diameter 1-2mm larger than the bolt diameter, reserving space for thermal expansion and contraction);

Pass through the bolts, insert washers and nuts under the support structure, and gradually tighten them in diagonal order (to avoid deformation of the grille caused by tightening on one side first);

The spacing between bolt fixing points is set every 500-800mm along the long side of the grille and every 300-500mm along the short side to ensure uniform force distribution.

Fiberglass grating, installation instructions for grating:

Attention: Operators should wear gloves, use suitable cutting, drilling, and fixing tools, avoid high temperatures and sources of fire, and install in a ventilated environment.

Pre installation inspection: Confirm that the installation position of the fiberglass mesh panel meets the design requirements, and that the base structure is sturdy and level; Check the grille panel for any damage, cracks, deformation, etc. The dimensions meet the design requirements and the supporting structure is stable.

Fixing method: If required by the design, bolts, nuts, and washers can be used to fix the fiberglass grating plate to the support frame, or U-shaped clips can be used to fix the grating plate to ensure its fastening to the support frame.

Check the quality of docking and splicing: Ensure that the joints of all fiberglass mesh panels are flat and without gaps, check the fixing situation, and ensure that the fiberglass mesh panels are firmly installed without looseness.
