Fiber filter cloth turntable filterCharacteristics compared to conventional filters:
(1) The effluent quality is good and stable. The filter disc turntable filter uses a filter disc wrapped with filter cloth instead of traditional sand in the filter tank. The filter cloth has a small pore size and can intercept small particles with a diameter of several micrometers (μ m). Therefore, the effluent quality and stability are better than those of granular filters. However, before flushing the conventional filter, the water quality is poor due to penetration issues, and after flushing, the residual cleaning water in the filter layer will affect the effluent. In addition, the amount of filtered water also varies with the change of resistance.
(2) Innovative design, resistant to impact loads. The filter disc filter is equivalent to a combination of a filter tank and a filter, with the function of discharging sludge. The sludge with large particles settles directly to the bottom of the bucket tank without clogging the filter cloth, unlike a regular filter: all suspended solids (SS) must pass through. Therefore, the filtration cycle is long, the cleaning interval is long, and the hydraulic load and sludge load that can be borne are much greater than those of conventional sand filters. The suspended solids (SS) load is equivalent to 1.5 times that of conventional sand filters, and the filtration speed is increased by 50% compared to conventional filters. Therefore, the filter disc filter is more resistant to the impact of high suspended solids concentration and large suspended particles.
(3) The equipment is simple and compact, with few auxiliary devices, and the investment in the entire filtration system is low. The filter disc filter can continuously filter during cleaning. When backwashing the sand filter, it cannot filter continuously. To ensure continuity, an intermediate water storage tank needs to be set up in front of the sand filter or multiple filters need to work alternately. The filter cloth turntable filter adopts a small water pump for negative pressure suction and automatic cleaning of filtered water, eliminating the need for backwashing water tanks, water towers, and other traditional filters. Traditional filters require high-power water pumps and two sets of larger diameter pipe valve systems for air and water backwashing due to their high backwashing intensity. The entire system is complex and requires high investment. The automatic control system is extremely large and complex.
(4) Low idle rate of equipment and low total installed power. Due to the thin filter cloth, it is very easy to rinse clean and the cleaning is very efficient. When cleaning, the area of the filter disc is only equivalent to 1% of the entire filter disc area. The characteristic of cleaning is frequent but short cleaning duration (1 time/60-120 minutes, 1 minute/time). The overall amount of cleaning water is also relatively small. The water consumption for backwashing is about half that of sand filtration. However, traditional filter tanks have many air-water backwash water pumps and equipment, large and numerous automatic valves, high power, and high idle rates. The installed power is about 1/10-1/15 of that of sand filtration.
(5) Automated operation makes operation and maintenance simple and convenient. The filtration process is controlled by a computer, and the interval time and duration of the negative pressure suction cleaning process and sludge discharge process can be adjusted. There is basically no need for dedicated personnel to maintain and manage. The maintenance workload of the filter cloth turntable filter is small. There are few mechanical equipment for the filter cloth turntable filter, and the pump and motor run intermittently. The filter cloth wears less and is easy to replace. If the filter cloth is blocked due to certain reasons, it can be easily replaced. For sand filters, if they become clogged, a significant amount of cleaning work is required. Moreover, it is very difficult to replace the filter material in the sand filter.
(6) The head loss is much smaller than that of a sand filter. The head loss of the filter disc filter in the filter tank is generally 0.3m, while the head loss of the sand filter tank is generally over 1.5m. The head loss of the sand filter tank is higher than 5m, resulting in significant energy loss and increased operating costs.
(7) The footprint is much smaller than other filters. Due to the vertical hollow tube design of the filter disc, a small footprint can ensure a large filtration area, thereby reducing the pool capacity, material and earthwork volume, and significantly reducing the project cost. A filter with a daily processing capacity of 10000 tons, occupying an area of no more than 15 square meters and a height of 3.3 meters. For technological transformation, it can solve the difficulty of insufficient space.
(8) The filter disc filter is easier to install than the granular filter. After connecting the pipe fittings on site, they can be put into use. However, granular filters often require the installation of filter media.
(9) Short design and construction cycles. The filter cloth turntable filter is fully equipped and can be shipped as a whole, with convenient and fast design and construction; And expansion is easy.

(11) The system function recovery is fast, and the impact of accidents in the pre-treatment system on the filter tank is relatively small and the recovery is fast. The accident pollution only occurs on the outer side of the filter disk, and has no impact on the inner side of the filter disk. Moreover, the sludge in the filter tank can be quickly removed through the sludge discharge pipeline.
